Best way to get resin out of a metal pipe. Discussion in 'Stash Jar' started by 420savvy, Jan 20, 2011. Lmao I have never smoked resin and I have been smoking over 10 years. I'm a newb eh. No, I just realize that I would look like a crack head trying to scrape a pipe. Not to mention I have a job, and friends who will spot me. Not to mention I am smart enough to re up before I run out.

i can scrape my bowl pretty well..i just heat it up with a lighter then scrape it with my swiss army knife and proceed to get high off a few hits from a glob of resin.
well.my bowl is scraped.and i'm out of weed..
i know there is a shit load of resin inside the pipe..whats the best/easiest way to extract all that so i can get high tonight?

Cover the inside of a small pot with tin foil. Fill it with cold water, throw your pipe in (may want to use a small trivet so it isn't directly on the bottom of the pot) and let it boil. Not a rolling boil, just a slight boil. The resin should migrate from the inside of your pipe to the foil. Proceed to scrap the resin from the foil and get high.

i thought about the boiling pot thing..but i thought i'd just get sticky resin all over the pot and waste my time..
the foil trick is genius..wish i had thought of that..
i did think of a plastic bag but thought it would melt

get a bowl of everclear (enough to submerge the pipe).
Let the pipe soak long enough to dissolve all the resin
Remove pipe from bowl
Evaporate the alcohol
You now have a bowl of sticky/gooey resin

Get some high content alcohol..like everclear. Warm it up, soak the chamber..pour it out on a plexi-glass or mirror or some shit like that. Let the alcohol evaporate, scrape the residue off said glass/mirror/plexi..and smoke away.

the foil in the pot sounds the easiest and fastest way..
but i fucking ran out of foil..
does the coffee filter method work the same way?
it seems like it would be too hard to get resin off of a coffee filter and you end up smoking lots of little paper fibers

just bake the bowl in the oven/toaster oven at 250 degrees for like 15-20 min
then use a paper clip to work ur way in the carb etc and grab all that black gold =P

I never liked the idea of using alcohol to get resin out. I don't want to smoke that crap. I usually boil it, but be careful because it could crack. It works really good. I used to have a certain pot that I would use because it would get so messy, so be aware of that too. I hate smoking resin, though, it always gives me a headache.

I think it's okay as long as you evaporate all the alcohol with a fan or blowdryer.

Alcohol works better at dissolving shit. but like he said, make sure its all evaporated, you'll be fine. I think water would just cook it..boiling..

Would work fine. Honestly, your better off smoking an ISO extraction from your stems than from the nasty-ass carcinogenic tar that you guys refer to as 'resin'.
